The North West Shelf of Australia is a world class hydrocarbon province and produces over 75% of Australia’s total oil and gas.  It extends over 2,400 km along the northwest margin of the Australian continent and comprises four geological basins, the Northern Carnarvon, Offshore Canning, Browse and Bonaparte basins. 

Finder is one of the largest exploration permit holders on the North West Shelf of Australia with interest in ten permits covering 9,262 km2.  Six of the permits (five exploration and one retention) are located in the Northern Carnarvon Basin and three exploration permits in the Northern Browse and Bonaparte basins.
